Preauthorisation
Please see below an explanation of a preauthorisation.
A credit/debit card pre-authorisation is a temporary hold of a specific amount - Room Rate + Incidental charges $100.
The key points you need to know:
• Pre-authorisation is not an actual charge but a temporary hold of a specific amount
• The hold may show up on your credit/debit card statement as a pending transaction
• Once a completion is processed on day of departure for the amount that is owing on your room account, your bank will pay the merchant and release the remaining funds (if there is any) into your account. The amount paid and the preauthorisation may show on the statement until the card holders bank reconciles the accounts.
Once your bank reconciles your bank account ie. pay the owing amount to the merchant, the remaining funds are then released back into your account.
We do not do a refund as we only charge the amount owing as per invoice that you receive.
Feel free to contact your card issuing bank. They may also be able to assist you with removing these holds sooner.
